By Car
A19 Thirsk (South) or A59 Harrogate starting from point 3
- You will come to a roundabout take the third exit signposted A1237 Harrogate/Selby/Leeds. (Ignore signs to City Centre).
- On the next roundabout Wetherby Whaler Restaurant is on the left, go straight on A1237.
Next roundabout, go straight on, A1237 Knapton, Acomb, Rufforth (If you are travelling from Harrogate you will join the A1237 here, take the third exit). - On the next roundabout go straight on, A1237 Copmanthorpe.
- Next roundabout is the link to the A64; take the first exit, A64 Scarborough, Selby, Hull Designer Outlet.
- You are now on the A64; keep in the left hand lane as you approach the traffic lights. Take the next exit, York West A1036.
- Join the dual carriageway and keep in the left hand lane, BP Garage on right. At traffic lights turn left, follow signs for A1036 City Centre, York College is on the corner.
- At the roundabout, with Tesco’s on the left, go straight on following A1036 City Centre signs.
- At the traffic lights with the Beefeater Restaurant/Pub on the left go straight on. The hotel is on the right hand side.
A1 Northbound
Follow the A1 north until you reach junction 45, the A64 towards York/Leeds (ignore all previous exits into York in order to avoid the City Centre). Follow the A64 towards York then follow directions below:
- Now on the A64; go straight down this road until you see the sign for York West (after the York North exit).
- As you approach the York West exit you will need to keep in the left hand lane at the traffic lights. You will be taking the next exit signposted York West A1036.
- Join the dual carriageway keeping left, with the BP garage on your right. At the traffic lights turn left, and follow signs for A1036 City centre, York College is on the corner.
- At the roundabout with Tescos on the left, go straight on following signs for A1036 City Centre.
- At traffic lights with Beefeater restaurant/Pub on the left go straight on. The York Marriott is on your right.
Heathrow Airport
Take the underground train from Heathrow (Piccadilly Line to Kings Cross station, which should take approximately 1 hour.
Change to British Rail for trains to York. This should take approximately 2 hours.
Manchester Airport
Take a train from Manchester Airport to York; this should take approximately 1hr 50 minutes.
Leeds Bradford Airport
From the airport take the Airlink 757 coach to Leeds Station. You will be able to get a direct train from Leeds to York; this should take approximately 30 minutes.
Once arriving in York you will be able to get a taxi from York Station.
