Internal audit's role has evolved and developed dramatically over the last ten years. The role of purely a policeman has faded to a professional working with management to improve an organisation's strategy, operations and governance, risk management and controls. Increasingly we are being asked to provide consultancy support, but do we all know what we are getting into?
This half day session will aim to answer the following: What do we mean by consultancy? When should auditors be involved in consultancy and when shouldn’t we. What steps do we need to take to ensure the success of a piece of consultancy and what skills are required?
