IIA Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk study programme

The certificate study programme comprises a mix of self-study and attendance at four two-day workshops - one for each module.  The workshops are highly interactive with opportunities for role play, team work, discussion and individual activities all aimed at developing your skills in an enjoyable and relaxed environment.  The key features of the programme are:

  • A study text with learning activities and self-assessment questions - enables you to learn from your work experience, and apply your learning to your work.
  • A student handbook containing general guidance relevant to all modules, to help you complete your personal development portfolio and prepare for your assignment.
  • Four two-day workshops held in locations in the UK and Ireland. 
  • The programme is designed to be extremely flexible and can be completed in a minimum of six months and a maximum of two years.

Where to start
The modules can be taken in any order, however, we strongly recommend you take them in the following order:

  • Corporate Governance and Risk Management
  • Internal Auditing - Tools and Techniques
  • Effective Delivery of an Audit
  • Communication and Client-Auditor Relations

What you will need to do the programme
There are no entry requirement to do the course. Students should provide a postal address for the receipt of study texts and workshop joining instructions. Access to the internet is an advantage for on-line support.
