Exemptions
We have evaluated a number of external qualifications that include subject matter relevant to our qualifications and are tested to a similar standard. These qualifications have been awarded exemptions against certain theory modules in the IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice or the IIA Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management. Exemptions are also available for one of the skills modules of the IIA Diploma. The IIA Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk has no exams and, therefore, no exemptions.
As well as standard exemptions based on recognised qualifications students can also apply for non-standard exemptions. These applications can cover university programmes, other professional qualifications as well as professional experience.
If you have completed the IIA Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk you will be exempt from tuition from the Corporate Governance and Risk Management and Internal Auditing modules of the IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice, although you will still need to pass the exams. You will also be exempt from the two skills modules.

We will review the syllabus you followed and consider awarding an exemption where it can be supported by reason of syllabus match and the level of study and assessment.
