Consultation on proposed new IIA Certificate in IT Auditing
Over the past year the Institute has been reviewing its portfolio of qualifications with specific focus on the needs of IT auditors. As a result of this review we are pleased to announce our proposal for a new IIA Certificate in IT Auditing.

Review and Consultation
This review has involved research and consultation with employers, representative groups and IT auditors, under the leadership of the Institute’s Council and Professional Education Committee. Some of the groups we have spoken to include:

- Information Security Special Interest Group
- The Global IIA
- Computer Audit Management Group
- Representatives from Central and Local government
- Heads of internal audit, CFOs and CIOs via the IT Risk survey with Pricewaterhouse Coopers
- ISACA London Chapter
We also had contributions from a steering group of IT auditing members who volunteered their ideas to our review.

The consultation period for the proposed Certificate took place from 28 April to 16 May 2008. Thank you to everyone who participated and gave us their feedback. We are now reviewing the results of the consultation and will publish our plans for the Certificate in the coming months. Check back later for more news.
