Transition arrangements for QiCA students and QiCA holders
All those who hold the QiCA designation will be awarded the IIA Postgraduate Certificate in IT Auditing and ITAC designation on 1 April 2010, which will coincide with the first cohort of students who will complete the new programme.
The final exams for the Qualification in Computer Auditing will be held in November 2008 and no new QiCA designations will be awarded after 31 March 2009. Anyone completing QiCA from 1 April 2009 onwards will be awarded the IIA Postgraduate Certificate in IT Auditing and ITAC designation instead.
QiCA logbooks will be accepted up to 31 March 2010. Thereafter any current QiCA student who wishes to complete their award must undertake the new Postgraduate Certificate work related research project instead. On successful completion they will be awarded the IIA Postgraduate Certificate in IT Auditing and the ITAC designation.
Current QiCA students who have passed Q1 Business Information Systems Auditing but not successfully completed the Q2 examination Specialist Information Systems Auditing (final sitting November 2008) will need to transfer to the new IIA Postgraduate Certificate in IT Auditing and complete all components (they will be exempt from taking tuition provided they have undertaken tuition for Q2). They will be able to do this until 31 March 2010 even if they do not meet the standard entry requirements. Thereafter the standard entry requirements for the new Postgraduate Certificate will apply to all candidates.
Current QiCA students who have not passed Q1 Business Information Systems Auditing will need to transfer to the new Postgraduate Certificate in IT Auditing and complete all components providing they meet the standard entry requirements.
We appreciate that QiCA students and QiCA holders may have further questions or concerns about the transition to the new Postgraduate Certificate. We also want to hear their thoughts on the proposed new Certificate. We encourage them to
email us with their comments or questions.
