Dual awards
From September 2011 the IIA is introducing a new route to gaining its professional qualifications.
When studying with Birmingham City University (BCU) it is now possible to gain full recognition for all of the examinable requirements of the IIA Diploma and IIA Advanced Diploma without the need to sit additional IIA exams, as follows:

IIA Diploma

Postgraduate Diploma in Audit Management and Consultancy

IIA Advanced Diploma

IIA Diploma and IIA Advanced Diploma

Note: students are still required to complete the IIA Professional Experience Journal in order to attain the designation PIIA or CMIIA as appropriate.
This arrangement only applies to students from September 2011 onwards who are registered on the dual award scheme. It does not apply retrospectively to those holding BCU qualifications. Students need to remain registered as IIA members throughout their period of study to be eligible.
