The Global Institute of Internal Auditors
The IIA operates independently in the UK and Ireland but is affiliated to the global Institute of Internal Auditors. Established in 1941, the global Institute represents more than 150,000 members across 160 countries of the world and sets the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics. The global headquarters are situated in Altamonte Springs, Florida, United States.

All members of the IIA – UK and Ireland are automatically members of the global Institute and have access to professional guidance and a range of other services through the global website. For more details please visit www.theiia.org


The ECIIA
The European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing (ECIIA) represents 32 national Institutes of Internal Auditing within the wider European region. It exists to promote professional internal auditing - its benefits, competencies, standards and qualifications - to all European institutions, bodies, committees and people of influence.

 
ECIIA undertakes research on topics relating to internal audit, business control, risk management and corporate governance. It publishes position papers, briefings reports and a quarterly newsletter. A permanent advisor to the EC Committee on Auditing the ECIIA supports the development of professional internal auditing in various EC Directorates General.
