New tuition provider for Ireland

14 November 2007

The IPA in association with the University of Glamorgan Business School will now offer tuition from January 2008 for the IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice and IIA Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management. Tuition will be offered on a block release basis in Dublin and the IPA will be responsible for all day-to-day administration of the courses. Tuition provision and student support will be provided by the School.

Any student who is not currently a member of the IIA who signs up for IPA tuition before 31 March 2008 is also entitled to free membership of the IIA for their first year.

Francis Nicholson, Education Director at the IIA said, “This is an exciting development and the IIA is delighted to welcome the IPA as an accredited tuition provider in Dublin. Organisations in all sectors are putting increasing value on the work done by internal auditors and as a result, IIA qualified people are very much in demand.”

A formal course of study must be taken by students for the IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice and is strongly recommended for the IIA Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management students.

The IPA is the main provider of training and education courses to the Irish public sector operating from its premises in Dublin. The IPA is also a recognised college of the National University of Ireland and is very active in the provision of internal audit and corporate governance services.
The University of Glamorgan Business School is the largest business school in Wales. The School offers a full programme of undergraduate and postgraduate awards in finance and business administration and also professional courses. The School has been an accredited tuition provider since 2005. The School will be bringing this experience to the Institute for Irish based students.
