The IIA is a specialist membership body dedicated entirely to the individual needs of internal auditors like you. The IIA aims to raise the profile of internal audit across the board and facilitate a connected community within the internal audit sector.
The reason why our members decide to join the IIA varies greatly from one person to the next. To some people, belonging is important. To others, it is the opportunity to network. And for others again, it is the free access to technical support and professional guidance.
Whatever support you are looking for, we think you would benefit from being a member of the IIA.
Don’t miss the opportunity to GETCONNECTED!
We recently held a free event providing IIA non members with the opportunity to learn more about the IIA. Keynote speaker Liz Sandwith MIIA FIIA, Sandwith Internal Audit Services, gave a compelling presentation on whether internal audit provides the information its stakeholders’ want and attendees greatly enjoyed the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals whilst discovering the existing and new benefits of becoming a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors – UK and Ireland.
Key points from the event
1. The Institute is currently seeking Chartered status. Being a Chartered Institute will have impressive implications for not only the Institute and the profession at large but also to individuals who will have the opportunity to become Chartered members.
2. The IIA offers our members unrivalled local networking opportunities through our annual IIA regional District event programme, our London annual conference (which is the internal audit event of the year) and via our online discussion forums.
3. Each month, the IIA disseminates guidance electronically to members on every matter and element of internal audit. The IIA also offers a comprehensive online Knowledge Centre including a dedicated resource library, access to exclusive IIA professional guidance and a free technical helpline to support you with any queries or challenges that may arise throughout career. Currently, there are over 300 pieces of guidance stored in our Knowledge Centre on the website and the guidance is ever-growing.
4. The IIA has recently established IIAdvantage, a lifestyle, travel and business benefits package which will save you money.
