Regions and district information
Districts provide both members and non-members with an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with other practitioners working in their local area. Districts hold regular events on a variety of internal auditing topics including workshops, special days for students and "ask the expert" question and answer sessions. These provide an ideal way to expand knowledge and harness the benefits of networking.

Bruce Sherry, Chair of the IIA's Scottish District
I joined the IIA Scottish District Commitee several years ago, not long after becoming an IIA member. In 2009 I was appointed to the position of Chair and really enjoy the challenge the position brings. We have a very active district in Scotland, running many events for students and members. We set up the first mentoring scheme within the IIA in UK and Ireland and hold a very successful annual conference. Being part of the district provides an excellent opportunity to meet with fellow auditors from a variety of organisations and at all levels, and has enabled me to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by audit colleagues.
