IIA Eastern District
Welcome to the Eastern Counties District (ECD) web page.
The ECD has over 1,200 members covering the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and the London Boroughs that are north and east of the Thames including Barking, Barnet, Brent, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Harrow, Havering, Newham, Islington, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and the City of London. This is a wide catchment area with members working in many different types of organisation in both the public and private sectors.
We recognise that with a large membership it may not be possible to meet everyone’s expectations and that some members will wish to take a more active part in the District than others. Nevertheless, the Committee would like to engage with as many of the membership as possible over the next few months to better understand your needs and views. Whilst we intend to carry out a survey of the membership in the near future, we would like to know the type of events and activities that you would prefer and ideas on how we can best serve your needs, so please feel free to contact any member of the Committee directly.
STOP PRESS: Our latest event, on 4th March 2010, “Be a Winner” is an ideal opportunity to hear a great and inspiring presentation on personal development as well as meet with Committee members.
Your Committee
Your Committee will support the membership across the Eastern Counties District and provide an all round service whereby we can:
- Provide regular events for members covering a variety of topical and relevant subjects in conjunction with the Institute to help all members develop their professional internal auditing skills and personal development.
- Be the key point of contact for members with the IIA and provide a dialogue between members and the Institute.
- Facilitate and encourage networking across the membership
- Provide support to Student members in their journey towards professional qualification
- Support the Institute of Internal Auditors and promote the Internal Audit profession
