Welcome to the IIA North West webpage from the Chair of the Committee.

The committee will strive to:

• Support the Institute by promoting internal auditing, risk management and corporate governance in the North West Region
• Promote the profile and development of the internal auditing profession
• Provide cost effective seminars and events in the North West, which are relevant to the needs of members and students
• Encourage networking and mutual support amongst members in the North West and other interested parties.

I have been a member of the NW Committee for several years and I am privileged to have taken the chair on your behalf.   The NW committee works hard to organise regular presentations to both meet members CPD requirements and students training needs. 

We have approximately 550 members and 100 students in the Region.

We always seek to provide value for money presentations and we would like to thank those organisations who provide top quality venues which assist us in this task.   We rely on members, students and guests for support in attending the meetings and for providing ideas which we develop into presentations.  Please feel free to talk to any committee member or to email at the address below if you have any suggestions for presentations or venues.

We usually organise our meetings in Manchester but we recognise that we represent the region as a whole.  We do regularly canvas opinion from members as to where they want to meet.  Again please contact us with any views on locations you would like us to consider to future events. 

The Committee currently comprises twelve volunteer members representing both the private and public sectors; please get in touch if you would like to join us and we shall certainly bear you in mind for the future.   The Committee meets at least once a year after the AGM to plan the coming year’s events and thereafter, we meet informally at the various events.  We expect committee members to be “hands on” and to assist in arranging the presentations or to assist with venue set-up on the day, perhaps by booking in those who attend.
