IIA Scottish District
The Scottish District Committee promotes the professional practice of internal auditing and provides a local focus for members of the Institute in Scotland by:
- working in partnership with the Institute to promote the Institute and its activities throughout Scotland;
- actively supporting students in the attainment of the Institute's qualifications through a series of workshops;
- organising a range of events on matters relating to the profession;
- encouraging and facilitating networking among members of the profession;
- co-operating with other professional or representative bodies on matters of common interest.
The Scottish District Committee is passionate about internal auditing and committed to enhancing the profile of our profession in Scotland. We also aim to deliver value for money training events and other opportunities for development and networking. Through these activities and by working in concert with IIA Head Office we aim to significantly increase member numbers in Scotland, work towards the provision of local tuition for the Advanced Diploma course, extend the reach and use of IIA Standards and become an influential advisor to Audit Committee members.
Our events programme is attached and the Committee has established the Annual Dinner in May and Conference in October as the stand out networking events in Scotland for internal auditors and those with an interest in the profession. The Conference in particular has proved to be a great success achieving sell out attendances and positive feedback over recent years and providing delegates with an opportunity to hear first hand the thoughts of industry leaders and to liaise with fellow professionals.
Committee members are drawn from various backgrounds, ranging from internal auditors through HIAs and Senior Managers to Directors and Partners, across both public and private sectors.
We will continue to look for new opportunities to innovate and enhance our services based on your feedback and continued support.
