The IIA offers the following types of membership:
| Student membership for those not yet holding either PIIA, MIIA designation, wishing to study for one of our qualifications: IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice - accelerated route (for CCAB holders) IIA Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management IIA Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk Students who successfully complete the IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice or the Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management will become voting members, in recognition of their achievement. |
| Affiliate membership for those working in internal audit or related disciplines who seek access to professional support and guidance but who prefer not to study for a qualification. Subscription discounts are available through the IIA's Group membership Scheme for organisations who wish to register ten or more employees as members of a group scheme. |
| Voting membership for those who have successfully completed the IIA Diploma in Internal Audit Practice, the Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing and Management, QiCA or have been awarded Fellowship. Voting members are able to fully participate in all the activities of the IIA including shaping policy and having a voice in the governance of the IIA. Voting members may vote at Annual General Meetings, stand for election as a Director or become chairperson of one of our key committees. |

Fellowship is awarded by the Council of Directors to members in order to recognise a sustained contribution to the IIA. It demonstrates that that the holder is a senior, active and committed member of the profession. |
