Facilitated or guided self assessment
If you are a new head of internal audit looking for an independent view on the performance of the function, then this is a good option for you. It can also be useful following a reorganisation or when you simply don't have the time to carry out a self assessment.
The aim is to identify gaps in your team's practice and to recommend improvements. You will get an opinion on how well you are conforming to the Standards.
The IIA's technical manger usually leads these reviews, supported by an independent reviewer with experience in a similar operation to your own.
Expect this type of review to take at least 8 days and to include interviews with audit committee members and senior executives.
The reviews can be tailored according to your needs, and for this reason the costs vary, but you can expect to pay from £9,000.
