Meet the team

Aneeta Banga, BA, FCCA, Chair

With 17 years of experience in the internal audit and risk profession, Aneeta has held senior positions in practice, industry, and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), working with global and complex businesses. Aneeta has participated in many Audit Committees and Board meetings, offering insight, advice, and solutions while building relationships across the C-suite, management, and key stakeholders. As an integral part of her role, she has created risk-based audit plans and developed internal audit strategies that align with business objectives. Aneeta has also recruited, managed, and built an internal audit function, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal audit guidance International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and Corporate Governance Code.

Aneeta serves and the Chair of the Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) Central Regions, providing strategic insights on areas such as regulatory changes, enhancing governance requirements, and promoting best industry practice.

Aneeta’s experience, expertise and commitment to excellence has led to meaningful contributions to businesses and to the wider profession.

Ashok Suman, FCCA, Vice Chair

Ash has over 16 years of audit experience, with the vast majority of that time being spent in Internal Audit. He started his career with KPMG, working in both their External and Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance functions across a number of regulated and non-regulated sectors such as Retail, Oil and Gas, Energy, Construction, Fast Moving Consumable Goods and Manufacturing. Following his time at KPMG, he worked For Dignity as a member of their in-house Internal Audit Team, Central England Co-operative as their Head of Internal Audit and now for the BBC. He Has a range of experience from SOX, J-SOX, financial due diligence and acquisitions, compliance testing and project assurance, as well as significant senior management and C-suite level engagement. He is a Business, Computing and IT graduate and a professionally qualified chartered accountant.
