Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors appoints Anne Kiem OBE as new Chief Executive

The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (Chartered IIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Kiem OBE as its new Chief Executive.

Anne has extensive leadership experience in the business, educational and non-profit sectors. Anne joins us from the Chartered Association of Business Schools (Chartered ABS), where as Chief Executive for eight years she oversaw the organisation being awarded its Royal Charter. Prior to her role leading the Chartered ABS Anne was also Chief Executive of the Institute of Financial Services. Anne was awarded an OBE in 2019 for her services to small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Anne Kiem, Chief Executive of the Chartered IIA said: “I am delighted to have been appointed Chief Executive of the Chartered IIA. I am very much looking forward to leading the organisation over the coming years, working with all our brilliant staff, members, and stakeholders to ensure that we have a strong internal audit profession for the future. All businesses need to have robust mechanisms in place to monitor processes and practices to ensure long-term success and in more risky, uncertain, and volatile times the need for professional internal auditors has never been more important.”

Anne replaces Interim CEO John Wood who left in December 2022.
