Dr Ian Peters MBE is to stand down at the end of 2019 as Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA) after ten years at the helm.
During his tenure, Ian presided over the growth in the CIIA’s membership from 7,500 to more than 10,000, the introduction of the Financial Services Code, new qualifications and greater engagement with members, and the award of Chartered status to the Institute in 2010.
“I have had the privilege of leading the Chartered IIA for the last decade and in that time we have achieved much together.
“But after ten years at the helm I have had time to consider my personal priorities and I have decided that now is a good time to move on to new challenges and pass on the reins to others to lead the Institute through the next phase of its exciting future.”
“On behalf of all our members, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Ian for his dedicated service and commitment to the Institute.
“Over the past decade, he has been instrumental in raising the profile and standing of the profession and increasing its influence among our key stakeholders. I wish Ian every success for the future.
“The Institute’s Council will be making further announcements about Ian’s successor in due course.”
