IIA Scottish conference delegates raise cash for local charity

19 January 2012

The chance to win a night's stay at the Airth Castle Hotel, Sterlinshire, with use of  all its leisure facilities, including swimming pool, gym and sauna, was a feature of the pre  dinner reception at the IIA's  Scottish Conference in November last year, which was hosted at the Hotel.

The prize was donated to the conference by the Hotel and the raffle raised over £400 for Lord Robert Smith's charity, the Scottish Community Foundation. Lord Smith has been a long time advocate of the Institute and the internal audit profession and he was a key public supporter during the Institute's campaign to gain Chartered status in 2010. He is due to speak this year at the IIA's Irish conference in April.

IIA Scotland Committee Chair, Aidan Allcock,  and  Committee colleague Scott Strachan gave a cheque to the Foundation's  Head of Development Daljit Singh
