Paul Boyle elected President

The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (the Institute) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new President, Paul Boyle OBE, CA, FIIA.

Since 2010, Paul has been the Chief Audit Officer at insurance giant Aviva, having previously filled the role as the first Chief Executive of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) from 2004-2009 . Before joining the FRC, Paul held the position of Chief Operating Officer at the UK’s Financial Services Authority.

Earlier in his career Paul held senior financial management roles in WH Smith Group and Cadbury Schweppes.

Paul is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, and served as a member of its council from 1990-1996. In 2010 Paul was made and Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

Paul Boyle comments: “I am looking forward to leading the Institute into its next period of growth.”
