Key Takeaways Our May session again focussed on the standards and specifically the requirement for Internal Audit functions to prepare a strategy. Practical guidance was given regarding the approach required together with an outline of a potential structure and the level of detail which may be required. It was recognised that there are differing levels of understanding of internal audit within audit committees and that the development of a strategy gives Heads of Audit a valuable opportunity to discuss the role and scope of internal audit with new or less informed committee members. Attendees were advised that the institute will soon be in a position to share a strategy template which can be used to support their own strategy development. Click here for the session's slides.
