CIA exams are computer-based and multiple-choice, and you'll get your result the same day.
You have a choice between sitting your exam online or at over 100 Pearson Vue centres in the UK and Ireland. This makes the exam-taking process flexible as you can choose a convenient date to fit in around your work and life.
If you opt for online testing, you can sit your exam from the comfort of your own home, 24 hours a day.

To pass a CIA exam, you need a score of 600 out of 750, or 80%.
Depending on the cognitive level and the difficulty of a question, some questions will count more than others.
You can read more about how the scoring works in IIA Global’s candidate handbook.
On the Pearson Vue website you will find guidance on what to do before the exam, and what to expect at the exam itself. This guidance applies to face-to-face exams (undertaken at Pearson Vue centres) and online exams.

We recommend you read IIA Global’s candidate handbook before applying to take an exam. It contains all of the policies that you need to be aware of as well as what to do in the event that something goes wrong.
