Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA)
The CRMA is the only risk management assurance certification for internal auditors and specifically developed to provide the in-depth organizational knowledge and advanced skill sets that are required to provide effective risk management assurance to audit committees and executive management.
Earning the CRMA will enable you to:
- Provide assurance on core business processes in risk management and governance.
- Educate management and the audit committee on risk and risk management concepts.
- Offer quality assurance and control self-assessment.
- Add value for your organization as a trusted advisor.
Eligibility
To enrol on the CRMA:
- A current member of the Chartered IIA
- CIA qualified
- Five years’ internal audit experience
You will have a maximum of 24 months to complete the CRMA from successfully applying.
Continuing professional education
Members are required to log 20 hours of CPE for the CRMA but remember that you can use the same CPE training to meet the requirements of both the CIA and the CRMA so you will not be required to log an additional 20 hours.

How to register
Apply via IIA Global’s CCMS system.
Once you are logged on to CCMS, make sure your details are correct and click on Apply for Certification in Risk Management assurance. You will be required to pay the application fee and upload proof of identification. CCMS will guide you through the process.
